know accrued pay is only allowed to Government Servants who were interned, and I believe that in practice this means that the concession is confined to Europeans. You will doubtless ensure that Government funds are not used to give Asiatic members of the University staff more favourable treatment than comparable Government Servants. I assume too that the accruing salaries of the staff will be, subjected to the 10% levy in lieu of income tax which is being applied to the accrued pay of Government Servants.
